On 21st May, 2024, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) Managing Director Dr Nomita Halder ndc visited various activities of RRF. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the activities of the youth program in implementation of RRF and the participants in the closing ceremony of the training of RHL-Project of PKSF. Assistant Executive Director Mr. Anthony Biswas steered the wheels of the RRF wagon for this arrangement. A brief report of MD Madam’s visit is given below.

Reception

The Chief Guest was welcomed inside the Jashore Airport by the Director, Microfinance and the guest was escorted to the Head Office by Assistant Executive Director Mr. Antony Biswas along with all Cell Heads welcomed the Chief Guest with floral greetings. His traveling companion was staying at the RRF AKM Nuruzzaman, General Manager (Environment and Climate Change). Later all the guests finished breakfast and left for RRF TARC.

The MD of PKSF Concluded RHL project training

PKSF is implementing the project titled Resilient Homestead and Livelihood Support to the Vulnerable Coastal People of Bangladesh (RHL) with the aim of increasing the climate-tolerance of the coastal people of Bangladesh. Training was conducted for the newly appointed officers and focal persons of the implementing agencies at the field level of the project. It is organized and implemented by PKSF. The training course started on May 18, 2024 and the closing ceremony was held on May 21, 2024 at RRF TARC, Jashore. Managing Director of PKSF Dr Nomita Halder ndc was present as the chief guest at the event. Dr Nomita Halder ndc gave a welcome speech at the event. AKM Nuruzzaman, General Manager (Environment & Climate Change) PKSF, Md. Fazlul Haque, Director, (Microfinance) Ad-din Welfare Center,  Arun Kumar Biswas, Director (Microfinance), Rural Reconstruction Foundation (RRF) and other officers of PKSF spoke as special guests.

  2. This training was a means of sharing their knowledge and skills.
  3. I was able to understand what steps we need to take to reduce the harmful effects of climate change.
  4. I was able to know how to work for expansion of crab farming.
  5. I was able to get a detailed understanding of how to raise goats and sheep in the loft system.
  6. Learned how to plant salt tolerant vegetables and trees near homesteads and crab ponds

The chief guest in his concluding speech said that you are all aware that Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation PKSF conducts multi-dimensional development activities to improve the quality of life of the backward communities. In this continuation, the officers of the Resilient Homestead and Livelihood support to the vulnerable coastal People of Bangladesh (RHL) project implemented by the partner organizations with the cooperation of PKSF with the financing of Green Climate Fund (GCF) have already completed the 4-day training. The MD Of PKSF expressed satisfaction visiting Automobile Prject

During the daylong trip, the Managing Director of PKSF Dr. Nomita Halder ndc visited the RRF own funded Evergreen Automobile Workshop after concluding the RHL project Training at RRF TARC. Mr. Antony Biswas; the Assistant Executive Director of RRF accompanied this short assignment and entertained her focusing the activities what exactly we are doing, and expressed the future plan of this particular project. The honorable MD of PKSF also extended her regards to be part of this moments, and expressed her interest to facilitate this project for going forward.

Rural Reconstruction Foundation (RRF) in collaboration with Palli Karma Sahajik Foundation (PKSF) is implementing activities under the Adolescent Program in 6 upazilas in Jashore, Bagerhat and Norail districts from July 2019 to till date. For that benefit, the Managing Director of PKSF Dr Nomita Halder ndc  visited Hatiara Kishore-Kishori Club of Sheikhhati Union of Norail Sadar Upazila of Norail District. Md. Mokbul Ahmed, Deputy Director, Communication and Documentation (Focal Person of Adolescent Program), Program Officer-in-Charge Mst. Sabina Yasmin Bina and various level officers of RRF were present during the visit. In a very happy and festive atmosphere. “An Afternoon in Dialogue” program was held with Dr Nomita Halder ndc. Conclusion

It is very important to have a top official like the Managing Director of PKSF inspecting youth programs at the grassroots level. It was a very joyful and unexpected occasion especially for the teenagers. This is a great platform for RRF to be doing such a great activity with the girls which is an opportunity to showcase it to various stakeholders. Such a great joint effort between PKSF and RRF is expected to continue and gain momentum in the days to come.
