Developing Inclusive Insurance Sector Project (DIISP)
BACKGROUND
Belong to RRF microfinance program this pilot project DIISP is being implemented in Jhikorgacha and Sharsha Uapzilla of Jessore districts within 02 microfinance branch offices. 22365 members of microfinance project are eligible for having the benefits under DIISP project. Rural Reconstruction Foundation (RRF) has been implementing DIISP since September 2013 with a financial grant support from Palli Karma-Shahayak Foundation (PKSF), the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR) and administered by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The project goal is to reduce the vulnerability and improve welfare of the poor through improved access to reliable and affordable institutional risk mitigation services (micro insurance), building upon the existing semi-formal risk mitigation services offered by Microfinance Program. The objective of the project is to protect the livelihoods of poor households, especially women, from risks such as accidents, illness, theft or natural disasters- to secure their welfare and productive or nonproductive assets through the development of low-cost inclusive insurance services (micro insurance).

Case-01: Medicare Service
A total of 3169 beneficiaries under the microfinance program have received medical treatment from MBBS doctors through satellite clinics. Among them, 402 patients have been sent to the hospital for better treatment. The expenses of all these cases have been provided by RRF from the health premium. Around 12,304 beneficiaries have been educated on different health issues, for which the paramedic conducted courtyard sessions for their awareness raising on different health issues.
Case-02: Insurance and Policy
102 members received hospital insurance for 200 taka per day after being hospitalized for different healthcare issues. 692 members opened insurance policies that made an insurance fund in the amount of 1,73,050 taka.
